Biography

Itzel Maldonado is a research coordinator assistant at the Metabolic Research Center. She earned her Masters of Science in Medical Health Sciences at Touro University California where she started her contribution to diabetes research. As a research coordinator assistant, she helps organize and coordinate participants in various studies. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. Itzel is also a certified Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Coach who recently joined the Dream team to help with DPP. She attended UC Davis for undergrad where she worked as a Emergency Medical Technician prior to the COVID pandemic and then worked as an Emergency Room Technician in Monterey county where she was born and raised.
