Touro University California is a Jewish nonprofit, independent graduate institution of higher learning founded in 1997 on three Judaic values: social justice, the pursuit of knowledge and service to humanity.

About Us

Touro University California opened in 1997 in a small facility in San Francisco but moved to its present location on the former Mare Island Naval Base, which closed in 1996.

The University first offered just the Osteopathic Medicine program but soon expanded to include nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, public health, and education.

Touro University California (TUC), together with its branch campus, Touro University Nevada (TUN), is fully accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Individual programs at TUC are also accredited by their professional accreditation agencies.

Touro California is home to more than 1,400 students and 6,295 alumni and growing.
