Biography

Dr. Jim Scott received his BS in Zoology in 1989, Master of Education in 1991 and Pharm.D. in 1994, all from the University of Florida. He completed a 1-year clinical residency in Geriatric Pharmacotherapy in 1995 at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Fl. In 1997 he completed a 2-year fellowship in Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From July 1997 through April 2000, he was Director of Infection Management at the Clinical Pharmacokinetics Laboratory in Buffalo, NY. He joined the WesternU College of Pharmacy in May of 2000.

His research, clinical practice and academic interests focused in HIV pharmacotherapy and adherence counseling. He spent his first 10 years as a faculty member in clinical practice, followed by 11 years as Associate Dean for Experiential and Professional Affairs. He joined Touro University California as their 3rd Dean of the College of Pharmacy in 2021. He is a Past-President of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (2021-2023) and is a past Board of Directors Member for the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM).
