In honor of National Public Health Week, Touro University California will host a special screening of the award-winning film, "Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare," which tackles the modern healthcare system.

The film, "Escape Fire," will be shown free at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lander Hall A, on the Mare Island Campus in Vallejo. The event concludes at 6 p.m. following a panel discussion.

The move examines forces in maintaining the status quo in the health industry, including what some perceive to be a system designed for quick fixes rather than prevention, and one in which profits take precedent over patient care.

The panel discussion will feature health experts John Troidl, Mark Horton, Junhua Yu, and Touro University's Gregg Lund and Audra Lehman.

The event is hosted by Touro University California's (TUC) Student Osteopathic Medical Association, TUC Public Health Club, and the California Public Health Association - North.
