Touro University Screens Obesity Documentary

Touro University's Public Health Club is hosting a screening of the HBO Documentary, "Weight of the Nation, Part 3: Children in Crisis" on Sunday, February 10, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lander Hall Auditorium.  A panel discussion with public health officers, doctors and students will follow. 

Part 3: Children in Crisis

Three years in the making, this film features case studies and interviews with leading experts, individuals and families struggling with obesity. Touro University invites you to explore how obesity affects the health of the nation and cripples the health care system. 

After the screening, a panel discussion will be held featuring City of Vallejo Councilwoman Marti Brown, Associate Professor and Community Health Track Chair, Dr. Annette Aalborg, Associate Dean of Preclinical Education and Professor of Touro's College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. H. Eduardo Velasco, and Masters of Public Health candidates Rachael Galvin and Jessica Fisher. The panel discussion will be moderated by California Public Health Association-North Governing Council President, Dr. David Spath. The event is open to the community and refreshments will be provided.
