Ebola shows doctors need global awareness, Solano official says
The Daily Republic
VALLEJO — Ebola shows why physicians should have a global awareness that also lets them better understand their own communities, the deputy director of the Solano County Health Department says.
“We can’t ignore what is happening in another part of the world,” Dr. Bela Matyas said Friday at Touro University in Vallejo, “because we are part of that world.”
“This just reinforces that reality,” he said.
Matyas, speaking at the 10th anniversary report for Global Health at Touro University, said the disease shows the impact other countries make on the United States.
