Touro University to offer diabetes classes

FAIRFIELD — Touro University California’s Student-Run Free Clinic is offering a diabetes education program that includes seven free hourlong courses covering basic diabetes knowledge and lifestyle changes to manage diabetes.

Participants will get help with such self-care as using a glucometer and foot exams. They will learn about diet, nutrition, medications, stress management and behavioral health and how to get the most from a visit to their doctor. They can get diabetes supplies and nutritional and behavioral health aids, an event press release said.
