Touro University Hosts Free Summer Internship

In its ongoing effort to inspire more people to pursue health education, Touro University is hosting a summer internship for select high schools students of Vallejo on the Touro Campus on Mare Island.  10 local high school students from Vallejo High School, Mare Island Tech, and St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School attending the program.  The goal of the 2012 Biotech Academy is to expose Vallejo's advanced students to the health-related subjects that will spark an interest in some form of medicine to help in their future career making decisions.

This advanced course covers health-related topics, such as anatomy, genetics-aging, neuroscience, Osteopathic Medicine, 3D/MRI imaging and global health. The internship gives a rare opportunity for local students to be introduced to topics taught at medical and Osteopathic medical schools.  The internship will run half-a-day on July 10, 11, 12 and 18 at the Touro University Campus and will consist of informational sessions and interview activities with Touro's faculty leaders and student volunteers.
