PLTI Class of 2015 Graduation: The first Parent Leadership Training Institute or PLTI graduates in Solano County were honored on June 13th at a celebration with family, friends, elected representatives and supporters of PLTI at the Solano County Office of Education. This group of 23 parents (out of an original 27) completed 20 weeks of training on positive communication, personal values, and participating in the democratic process. The Institute’s purpose is to build parents as advocates for their children and effective community leaders. Every parent completed a project which focused on improving their community – projects that reflected their passions and interests and were featured at the celebration. Certificates of completion were awarded to the graduates as well as certificates of recognition by local legislators. Over 150 people attended the dinner and graduation.
