Free Vallejo program set to raise awareness of sexual assault
An outreach event in conjunction with the Sexual Assault Awareness Month is scheduled on Wednesday.
Solano Speaks Out 2015 will include speakers representing many different branches of the community, including Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams, county Supervisor Erin Hannigan, and from Solano Community College and Touro University. A representative from the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault is also set to speak.
The event is organized by SafeQuest Solano and Touro University, and the free program will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., at Farragut Inn at Touro University, 1750 Club Drive, on Mare Island.
SafeQuest Solano is a rape crisis center that has served the community for about 40 years.
“Our goal is to inspire the entire county to speak out in one united voice against sexual assault,” Executive Director Toni Dumont said in the release.
