Dr. Sa received his Ph.D. degree in Health Behavior from Indiana University-Bloomington. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist. He has a wide range of experience in health program evaluation, research design, statistical consultation, data analysis and management, and community collaborations. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with local and federal health agencies to improve health and promote well-being of individuals and communities through education, research, and service.

 

Prior to his appointment at Touro University, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in a National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism-sponsored training grant in the School of Public Health at University of California-Berkeley.

 

For the past nine years, he has investigated behavioral and epidemiological issues underlying a range of health behaviors, including physical activity, nutrition, and alcohol use, with a particular focus on reducing racial/ethnic health disparities and understanding the mechanisms by which unhealthy behaviors are affected by multiple determinants.His research has primarily been conducted in historically African American churches and universities.
